Sally (Née Finklestein) is the deuteragonist of the film The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the main protagonist of the novel Long Live The Pumpkin Queen. She is a rag doll from Halloween Town. Intelligent, yet inconspicuous, she longs for independence, but is repeatedly restrained by Doctor Finklestein, her overprotective creator, and also is romantically infatuated with Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (also known as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) is a 1993 American stop-motion Gothic fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and written by Caroline Thompson. It tells the tale of Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town, who stumbles upon Christmas Town and schemes to take over the holiday, doing the work of Santa. Danny Elfman wrote the songs and score and provided the singing voice of Jack. The principal voice cast includes Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix and Ed Ivory.
